Welcome to Dogwood University! Dogwood is a prestigious college located in the fictional country of AMER.

 

The Daily Dog is Dogwood University’s student newspaper run by editor Leigh Leadfoot, staff writer Mea Dreamy, and photographer Buddy Smiles. The Daily covers student life, local issues, campus events, and champions diverse voices within the college community.

Our goal with this blog is to pull back the curtain to our worldbuilding process, character development, and storyline creation as we work to write the first book in a six book series.

 

The first installment begins at a magical university, when a group of meddlesome freshmen insert themselves in their bratty classmates’ life and uncover secret relationships that threaten their schools’ and their country’s stability.

​While each book poses a new threat to our core group of students, the overall series follows two incoming freshmen who are unknowingly locked in an ancient curse to kill each other.
